Written by Larry Hench. Illustrated by Ruth Denise Lear.

The story of how Daniel, who loves cats, but is very allergic to their fur has a bionic cat built for him by his neighbour and engineer, Professor George. Boing-Boing is just like a real cat, but with fiber-optic fur, computer-controlled joints, electronic eyes, and ceramic-sensor whiskers. When the friends visit London's famous zoo, they have a hair-raising encounter with a lion who mistakes the bionic Boing-Boing for lunch.
